Here again the superiorority
of LGB is very evident, well made, finished and all details included,
including interiors. The plastic wheels I exchanged for the metal ones
available at $NZ32.50 per set, nice authentic sounds they make to going over
the rail joints.
Also by LGB but marketed
under the name Lehmann Toy Train and made in the Czech Republic are a range
of good quality Locos and stock, a lot cheaper than their big brothers,
lacking in a bit of detail and a fraction smaller, but I find them quite
acceptable.
Ariso-Craft rolling stock is
also purchased again a lot cheaper but not as well finished and no
interiors.. but it does enable you to get a good selection of stock
quickly.. the plastic wheels taken from the LGB stock is put onto the
Aristo_Craft stock, this improves the smoothness of its running
considerably.
Bachmann stock again a lot
cheaper but very acceptable and the stock with metal wheels runs very well.
